ONE OF THE BEST SUSHI RESTAURANTS IN LA: HAMA SUSHI

Hama Sushi doesn’t look fancy from the outside but it is fancy on the inside. If you take a look at the menu you will soon notice they do not only offer the typical sushi, they also came up with amazingly exotic sushi and dessert ideas you have never experienced before.

It is no running sushi, however, the inside area is perfect if you want to watch how the sushi is being made. There is also a bar in the outdoor area where you can get certain delicious pieces during HAPPY HOUR between 3pm and 7pm. Hama Sushi is a bit pricy (but worth it!) so that is a good option if you don’t want to or can spend that much money for sushi.

Generally, you should always make a reservation because its close location to VENICE BEACH attracts many people: locals but also tourists who walked by accidentally.

So far, we have tried out a couple of sushi restaurants in Los Angeles, however, Hama Sushi is very unique.

I remember our first time very clearly which was already more than a year ago. Back then, a new friend from LA took Luisa and me to this cute little sushi spot in Venice. He kept saying „You gotta try the Strawberry Roll!“ We had the exact same thought as many of you out there might have right now. „Strawberry sushi? Something like that exists?!“ He was so excited what we would think of it so we had to give it a shot. It was super delicious indeed and I don’t regret it at all, rather the opposite. I regret all the days I’m not spending at Hama Sushi!

Now, I finally came back to have the strawberry roll again but ended up having these delicious alternatives instead which were still new to me. And of course I had to take advantage of the amazing happy hour…

All in all, you cannot do anything wrong if you choose Hama Sushi for either dinner or lunch.

Luisa’s pick: Florence Roll

our tip: combine your visit with a trip to Venice Beach!

side note: there is another Hama Sushi in Downtown LA
